Have Barbarian, Will Travel - Last event of 2025

Hey gang!

This year has been pretty busy for me in the realm of gaming. Started with Gary Con at the beginning of the year. A couple smaller gaming shows locally. Then the big daddy, Gen Con! It looks like next year it will have a very similar calendar. But! I wanted to highlight our last con of this year. We set up at Blue Ridge Showdown, this year in our home town of Hickory NC. Our friend Timmy Mac, and co, put on a very fun event. We got to run games all day Saturday and had enough people to kick off an arena game Sunday.

This was my first time running D&D at a con. With Stranger Things very fresh on my mind, I decided to run the first adventure in the Stranger Things D&D box set. The Vanishing Gnome! We had 5 players some using the pre-made characters that come with the box set, and one using the custom Eddie character I made for the game. We had such a blast! I highly recommend getting the boxset if you were even slightly curious. It has all the maps and tokens to run all the adventures. A good amount of meat in there to run it as is, with plenty of ways to make it your own. I decided to use my own battle maps and tiles instead of the maps packaged with the product. I also bought the Wizkids minis for the set, but that is just a personal preference. The tokens in the box set look really good. I ended up using the tokens for all the enemies because i really like the old school looking black and white art. Except for the big bad at the end, that I had a mini for!
