Gromm The Wanderer
Hey gang!
Prepping for Gen Con and needed a new character. I have signed up for all of my games and I’m so excited to play all weekend. One of my games takes place over 3 days and I was arguing with myself. Should I play a new character? A new class? Should I bring one of my battle tested barbarians? I played one of my barbarians, Krathus, last year in a couple of games. Bromrig made the trip to both Gary Con and Gen Con in the last couple years. I like bringing my characters that I play during my weekly games to cons. It helps me as a writer who uses D&D as inspiration. Well, when I was sent the pre-made characters for one of the games there was no barbarian option, blasphemy!!!!, I asked if I could bring my own and they replied kindly that there was already someone playing barbarian and its one class per party. Cool, cool, cool, cool…. Well I have paid for the game, I am nothing but adaptable, lets go. As I was rolling all these ideas around in my head and was thinking fighter! I have played fighter for years. Paladin? Sign me up! Well when I got the email back the only thing I had to choose from was bard and druid. Druids are cool. Right? The least played class in the game. Yeah druid it shall be! I was scrolling threads when I randomly came upon some amazing art. Art of a big tortle. He reminds me of Odin from TMNT Last Ronin. Whom is my favorite of the new turtles. This character is covered in books, scrolls, pans, pots, hatchets, all kinds of really cool things. He seemed really druid-y. With this arts inspiration I set off to make my new character. A character I will play for 3 days at Gen Con. So here he is! Gromm the Wanderer. Made a graphic with a little bit of his origin and the art that inspired it all. Below that are some concept images. I will post his character sheet as well. After Gen Con I’ll likely write a couple short stories starting my favorite tortle druid. Check back for which zine those appear in!
